Mo Pleasure is a multi-instrumentalist (Bass, Piano, Keyboards, Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Guitar), bandleader, producer, professional touring and recording musician and solo performer with over twenty-five years industry experience. Mo performed with artists such as Ray Charles, David Foster, George Duke, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Rachelle Ferrell, Charice, Natalie Cole and Earth Wind & Fire (principal member and musical director for eight years). Currently, Mo is a member of Native Son, an all-star jazz-rock fusion quartet also featuring John Robinson, Michael Thompson and Bobby Watson (bio’s here).
Lori Harris Pleasure grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Sociology. Lori obtained her JD from Cleveland Marshall College of Law and is a longstanding member of the Ohio Bar. She began her legal career as a staff attorney with The Toledo Legal Aide Society. Lori then became a prosecutor for Lucas County Child Support Enforcement. After leaving her position as prosecutor, Lori has held various legal and non legal positions and gained vast experience negotiating, preparing and reviewing contracts, arbitrating, engaging in legal research and conducting civil and criminal discovery. Lori is currently employed with Emory University Hospital in the Office of Risk and Insurance Services. Lori is a member of Guilford ABC Alumni Association and a former Board Member of iDream, a charity providing tutoring and mentoring to underprivileged children in the Atlanta area.
Born in San Diego, Marcel East grew up in a big musical family. At one point every family member played an instrument and he can never remember a moment without music. His musical influences ranged from Miles Davis to Motown to Mozart and everything in between. After graduating from high school Marcel joined a touring band and traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia performing over 300 shows a year. After years of touring Marcel moved to Los Angeles with brother and world-renowned bassist Nathan East to pursue writing and producing. Within months of living in L.A. Marcel was invited to the studio by keyboardist Greg Phillinganes to record handclaps where he met Quincy Jones & Michael Jackson. The song was “We Are the World” and the clapping choir was Marcel, Greg, Al Jarreau, James Ingram, Patty Austin, Kenny Rogers, and Lionel Richie earning Marcel his 1st multi platinum record. Since then Marcel’s writing, productions and collaborations have earned numerous gold and platinum records and #1 & top positions on various charts. His work has been shared with artists such as Maurice White, Chaka Kahn, Luis Miguel, Eric Benet, Earth, Wind & Fire, David Benoit, Wayne Shorter, Fourplay, Fattburger, James Ingram, Jermaine Jackson, Milton Nacimiento, Huey Lewis, George Duke, Freddie Hubbard, Philip Bailey, Jeff Porcaro, Howard Hewitt, Dori Caymi, Bobby Kimball of TOTO, Kevyn Lettau, Ivan Lyns, Ricardo Silvera, Jonathan Butler, David Sanborn, and others. His producing and arranging with Latin sensation Luis Miguel’s LP “Aries” won the “Album of the Year” at the Latin Grammys, was used as his opening song on his World Tour & Live DVD, and sold over 4 million units worldwide. His music has also been featured in motion pictures, television shows, and commercials with clients ranging from Disney, BET, Comedy Central, ABC, etc.
